I was invited to attend the first cohort of @made_creatives_in_residence in San Miguel de Allende, México. A one month, extraordinary experience, full of magic and creativity! I am incredibly grateful to have witnessed some of the rich history of this land. From pre-Hispanic dances and rituals to taking Arte Sacro as a new way of creative expression. Wow, I'm in awe. The faith of the people in SMDA is touching, their dedication to maintaining tradition, customs and devotions is impressive. I feel grateful to have witnessed the dedication, community organization and devotion of this beautiful town. For me, creating is an act of faith. From the moment an idea is born until the moment it materializes, we are blindly trusting that it will work and if you respect your craft, you make sure to see it through. Ofrenda a Tinyó Alawé for Indigenous Peoples Day celebration during Pronk Fest in Providence

We had such a lovely time at the Dominican Festival, Providence! I put out a call to women to dress as Fefita la Grande, a Dominican icon, accordionist, entrepreneur, and songwriter. Fefita turns 80 this year, she is a staple of Dominican culture and I really wanted to honor her legacy and amazing drive. It was fun! Thank you for responding, I'm truly grateful.    

LLAMADO A LAS MUJERES: Amigas queridas, el 13 de agosto es el Festival Dominicano de Providence. Las invito a participar en mi comparsa: "Todas las Fefas" en honor a Fefita la Grande. Todo lo que tienen que hacer es vestirse como Fefita la Grande y juntarse conmigo en la CVS 960 Broad Street, Providence, Rhode Island a las 9:00 a.m. Esto me hace mucha ilusión y cuento con ustedes, las que conozco y las que no conozco.
