"Art is not a mirror held up to reality but a hammer with which to shape it." - Vladimir Mayakovsky (This is the quote embedded on the glass sledge hammers that AS220 presents to its FREE CULTURE artists who fight against censorship and celebrate freedom of expression). "Pique" is Spanish for hot sauce. It also means curiosity, irritation, or frustration. Its a feeling; something worth addressing. The political environment of the U.S. calls for reflection after the elections. This will be a forum for performance and multimedia artists to present work as a reflection and reaction to our current socio-political environment, our history, and glimpses into the future."
